Gold jewellery has been a part of Indian heritage since past five thousand years. The age-old temples of India depict idols as well as human sculptures adorned with jewellery. The ancient Indus valley civilization also gave evidence of gold jewellery used by both men and women. The easy liquidity of gold also makes it a favoured financial asset that is viewed as recession or contingency proof. So the act of obsessing over gold has been justified in India since centuries. Mughal period, the art of kundan work reached Rajasthan from Delhi. Later on,
craftsmen from the different part of the country migrated to the place and made
Rajasthan a hub of Kundankari. Rulers and feudal lords gave patronage to the
art and it developed into perfection.
