  • Get up at the same time in the morning and go to bed at the same time every night

It hardly matters whether it is a weekday or weekend, it is important to give the body its need of proper sleep hours. Waking up in time and early makes life harmonious, and promotes harmony in senses. A good night sleep helps the body rejuvenate and recapitulate for the next day with energy and vitality.

  • Exercise daily for the type you are

It is the most essential part of healthy living. Even it is just 30 minutes of walking a day, it’s a must. Daily involvements in practices of yoga, meditation, activities like swimming, jogging, involvement in some sort of sports like tennis or football are all some sort of daily activities we should be involved with.

  • Never skip your breakfast

Breakfast as the name suggest – breaking fast after a long nights gap. It is the most essential meal of the day. It kick starts your metabolism and provides with all the energy the body needs to work through the day. It helps in keeping away from unnecessary eating between meals and keeps you away from hunger pranks. Every breakfast should contain the essential combination of proteins, fibers and healthy fats.

  • Maintain a positive and correct posture

In recent times, most of us are involved in professions that requires us to be at the desk sitting for 9 to 10 hours a day. Incorrect suiting postures can lead to numerous health hazards including sore muscles, strained eyes, poor circulation, and weight gain. Always try to sit up straight, accentuating the curve of your back as much as possible.

  • Drink plenty of water

Staying hydrated is vital for good health. Our bodies are made up of approximately 60% water and without proper and adequate intake of water, can lead to headaches, fatigue, and even overeating. The amount of water the body needs, depends upon a lot of factors like nature of work, physical activities, weather conditions etc. Certain foods like cauliflowers, watermelon, eggplants and cucumber are also a good water source, so eating more of them may mean you need to drink less.

  • Snack on something that you know is healthy

Healthy snacking is important for mid-afternoon energy boost. Try to avoid vending machines and opt for a homemade snack. Healthy fruits like apples, nuts, vegetable slices and Greek Yoghurts are some examples that makes up for great snacks. Unhealthy options like chips, fries and ice creams are in plenty but do no good for health. One of the main reason these days for weight gain and obesity is unhealthy snacks.

  • Watch out for what you put in your mouth for meals

Meals should be balanced and should constitute a variety of foods from various food groups. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and fish should be part of your daily diet. Maintaining a healthy and balanced diet can work wonders for your health and helps improving your overall energy.

  • Skip evening happy hours, and go simply out for foods and company

Alcohol, has been the most widely used relaxant drug in the world, but even consuming small quantities can lead to host of negative side effects on our health, like cancers. Going out with friends and colleagues doesn’t mean drinking, it could be for good company and good food also.

  • Prepare your place at least 30 minutes before you go to bed

Going to bed with that blue light on, reduces the production of melatonin, the hormone in our brain that helps preparing us to go to sleep. Experts recommend to get the room ready atleast 30 minutes in advance before falling asleep.

With the practices as mentioned above, healthy living should become a norm rather than an ideal and the best time to start is now. It’s as easy as the common saying – “Take care of your body and your body will take good care of you”.
