Tech Guide : Know 2G, 3G & 4G

Whenever you listen about the 3G or 4G then some time few questions may arise in your mind like what is this G. Though we all know in general that it’s all about Internet and its speed. However there are many other things that we are unaware about.
Here G stands for ‘Generations’ of the mobile network. Currently we are listening a lot about the 4G that means we have traveled the distance up to 4th generation so far. When 1G was introduced then it was the first generation with analog facility with no data, means only voice was supported. Later 2G (second generation) was introduced and with this digital and voice support was started in the smart phones over the internet network. The data rates supported by this system was from 9.6 kbps to 200 kbps. It made a revolutionary change in the mobile industry.
Very soon, after the 2G launch,
3G was launched, with this things drastically changed. Data rates provided with
3G were from 2 mbps to tens of mbps. However it also depend which area we are
in. For example, if we are in a metro city then the speed is fine but if we are
roaming to a small town then the speed is comparatively slow than metro cities.
Because of these increased data rates feature in the phones, the capabilities
for voice and video calling became a must features of the smart phones. With
emerging of 3G, smart phone companies had to introduced the features like web
browsing, video downloading, picture sharing etc. as a must features in their
devices.
Now we listen a lot about 4G,
which you can call wireless broadband service. It’s OFDMA (Orthogonal
Frequency-Division Multiple Access) based with flat architecture. Its data
rates are from tens of mbps to hundreds of mbps. Hence it provides very high
speed with real time streaming. With 4G facility you can browse and do the
things way faster than 3G. This facility is being provided by almost every
service provider. Airtel, Vodafone and Idea were already there in the race of
4G services but Reliance Jio has recently launched their 4G service with lots
more features and attractive prices. Now with the beginning of this service
provider’s fight this is a win-win situation for the consumers for sure.
