Jim Corbett City – Ramnagar, Uttarakhand

Born in Ahmedabad, Bought up in
royal heritage Bikaner,  Bangalore witnessed my career leap, Started new
innings of my life in the vicinity showered with mother nature’s love, Ramnagar
Uttarakhand and exploring each day of my life in Metro City, Delhi.
I am in love with every corner of my
incredible India. When I got an opportunity to write about my favourite city, the first city that comes to my mind is a beautiful city, with the
beautifully blessed vicinity “Ramnagar, Uttarakhand” popularly known
as Corbett City.
A beautiful city on
the bank of beautiful river, Koshi River, surrounded by beautiful safari
forests. With lush greenery all around, Ramnagar is the most beautiful
city,  I have seen.
Ramnagar is commencement point of Kumaon Hills and gateway to renowned Jim
Corbett National Park.
With Jim Corbett
National Park around, Ramnagar is a popular tourist spots, with various
attractions that includes Safari rides to stay at awesome designed resort in
the serene surrounding.

If Drive, Design and Connect are the parameters, my favourite city is nowhere
lagging behind.

Drive: Driving over the smooth roads in the lush
green vicinity is surely a pleasure. Beautiful
aura all around gives drives a divine feeling. Smooth roads, minimal traffic
and no sign of pollution, a drive in such serene atmosphere becomes an experience
of lifetime when beautiful gems of nature joins you as beautiful birds and
whimsical animals.

Design:
Ramnagar Town was established in 1856 by Commissioner H. Ramsey. It’s
situated in rich farm belt of Terai, on south-eastern fringes of great forests.
A beautiful town surrounded by greenery and beautiful rivers is designed
awesomely in every means. When you enter the aura of nature, beautifully
designed resorts will draw your attention and give you an expert example of architectural
beauty in the midst of enchanting nature.

Connect:
Connecting to the town is no issues. You can connect via roads, rails as well
as air (followed by road/ rail journey)

Air: The nearest airport is
Pantnagar Airport, 50 km away in the town of Pantnagar in Udham Singh Nagar
district. However Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi is the nearest
international airport.

Rail: The station is located about 65 km from Nainital. It has
direct rail links to Kashipur, Moradabad, Delhi, Bareilly, Lucknow, Haridwar,
Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Jaisalmer and Varanasi. (Code of Ramnagar railway
station is RMR)

Road: Ramnagar bus station is located
near to the Railway station. There are regular buses from Ramnagar to Nainital,
Kashipur and Delhi. Bus services are also available to Jaipur.

Jim
Corbett National Park
: Jim Corbett National
Park, which is a part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve, a Project Tiger
Reserve lies in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The magical landscape of
Corbett is well known and fabled for its tiger richness. Established in the
year 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett has the glory of being India’s
oldest and most prestigious National Park. It is also being honored as the
place where Project Tiger was first launched in 1973. This unique tiger
territory is best known as the father who gave birth of the Project Tiger in
India to protect the most endangered species and the Royal of India called
Tigers.

Enjoying Corbett Safari

Spans over
an extent of 520 square kilometers, its whole area comprises of hills, marshy
depressions, riverine belts, grasslands and large lake. It is among the few
tiger reserves in India that allows overnight stays in the lap of the National
Park. Nature watch and wildlife viewing in the park is done in an open four
wheeler Jeep and on elephant back.
In order to
promote tourism in the region Corbett National Park has been divided into five
different zones. These are the marked buffer or core area of the park where
visitors can be part of wildlife safari and can enjoy the intriguing behavior
of the animals with bare eyes at proximity.

Durga Devi Zone.

Garjiya
Devi Temple:
Garjiya Devi Temple is located in the Garjiya village
near Ramnagar, Uttarakhand, India. It is a sacred Shakti shrine where Garjiya
Devi is the presiding deity. The temple is situated over a large rock in the
Kosi River and is one of the most famous temples of the Nainital district.

Sita
Bani Temple:
Sita Bani Temple is dedicated to Devi Sita, consort of
Lord Rama. It is believed that she entered into the lap of Mother Earth here.
Every year, a fair is held here during Ramanavami. It is located at a distance
of 20 km from Ramnagar.
