Scholarship – A Step Towards Your Dreams

Being a dreamer who dreamt big for her future and education but being a part of middle class family, every dream dreamt is possibly not come true. Financial issues always make dreams unattainable for dreamers, especially in middle class family like mine. I always dreamt to pursue my education in field of engineering and did the same but not in my desired way, not from my desired college or university.

My desired education was not done in my desired way, I earned the knowledge, learned the minutes basics, but it could have been better. I always thought to have a easier way to finance my education the way I wanted that wasn’t available back then but now Scholarships are there to help in making your dream come true.

Scholarships are award of financial aid to students that help them continue their education further. There are different selection criteria and procedures to apply for different type of scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based upon various criteria, and it reflects the values and purposes that the donor or founder of the award has and follows. Scholarship money is not required to be repaid and the purpose of scholarships is to support education for students with financial obstacles. Scholarships indeed help a deserving students to achieve the goals he/she want to achieve by removing financial hurdles for higher education.

Recently I came across a Scholarship launched by Dr. Summit Shah after noticing rise in tuition fees. Summit Shah MD scholarships ensure that deserving students from all parts of the economic spectrum can reach their academic goals. The scholarship is open to all applicants regardless of their intended area of academic study. Among all applicants one student get chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship that helps him/her in their higher learning education.

Eligibility criteria for Summit Shah Scholarship are as follows:

• High school students graduating this calendar year and have been accepted into a college, university, trade school, or design school are eligible to apply
• Students currently enrolled in a college, unversity, trade school, or design school.
• All majors and areas of studies are encouraged to apply

How to apply : Applicants are suppose to write a short essay in not more than 500 words expressing your motivations and goals you want to achieve and submit it on there website. Be specific about your goals and Dr. Summit Shah can help you achieve one.

Last date of submission is June 1, 2019 and one lucky applicant will be selected in early July, 2019.

Dr. Summit Shah, graduated as valedictorian from Bishop Watterson High School before attending Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s with Honors. He stayed at OSU and earned his MD from the College of Medicine at Ohio State. Being a supporter of higher education for everyone, he founded Summit Shah Scholarship and supporting one education every year.
